Quiet, simple and beautifully understated, the Japanese Matcha Bowl Utsuku lets the colour of the matcha take centre stage.
Inspired by the soft light of the moon, Utsuku combines a predominantly white finish with delicate blue-grey tones around the interior. The subtle colouring creates a lovely contrast with the brilliant green of freshly whisked matcha and gives the bowl a calm, timeless appearance.
Traditionally known as a chawan, a matcha bowl is designed specifically for preparing and drinking matcha. Its broad opening gives a bamboo whisk plenty of room to move freely as the matcha and water are whisked together, while the gently rounded form is comfortable to hold in both hands when drinking.
