There is something rather special about the first teas of spring. Darjeeling Ambootia First Flush is produced from the tender new growth that appears after the tea bushes emerge from their winter rest, creating the fresh and aromatic character for which First Flush Darjeelings are so highly prized.

This fine FTGFOP1 comes from the historic Ambootia Tea Estate near Kurseong in the Darjeeling hills. Established in 1861, Ambootia is one of the region’s long-established tea gardens, its name traditionally translated as ‘place of the mango trees’.

Carefully processed to preserve the character of the spring leaf, this tea produces a beautifully bright, golden-yellow cup. The flavour is aromatic and elegant, with the fresh, lightly floral character typical of a fine First Flush and a gentle liveliness on the finish.

Lighter and more delicate than many black teas, Darjeeling Ambootia First Flush is particularly lovely enjoyed on its own, allowing the fragrance and subtle character of the leaf to come through.
