The Hebridean tea range – celebrating the island life
The Outer Hebrides are a special place. Nestled at the outer edge of Europe they sometimes seem to a lot of people like the end of the world.
But for us who live here we can proudly say: it is not as it seems! There are two groups of people living up here. Those who were born here and those who chose to live here. I am one of those who live here by choice, so more or less classed as an “incomer”. Most people who have chosen to live here usually have one thing in common: they love the islands and the island life. Living in a rural community has its benefits, but – of course – also some downsides. But I don’t want to rant about all the good and bad things. Well, maybe one good thing for me is definitely to start the tea store. My personal homage to the islands therefore is my Hebridean tea range which I would like to introduce to you:
Let’s start with a day on the island!

Hebridean Bad Weather Tea |
The Hebridean Bad Weather Tea is not really a tea in the true sense of the meaning. It is a wonderful herbal infusion, sweet and warming. Which can be rough, as we all know, because only in Scotland you may experience all four seasons in a day… caffeine free | suitable for children | suitable for vegetarians | suitable for vegansBUY NOW 100 g for only £ 5.20 |
Are you strong enough?
Fisherman’s Blend |
Our Fisherman’s Blend is one of our most popular black teas we have on the shelves. It is an aromatic Assam blend and preferred by people who come and ask for “a normal black tea”.

Island Life
Castle Brew |
Sir Matheson, who once owned the Isle of Lewis and built the Lewis Castle, made his fortune with importing silk, opium and tea. Most of the tea he later imported with Jardine, Matheson and Company amongst which was Keemun tea from the province of Anhui. So it is more than likely that tea like our Castle Brew was also served up at the castle.

and last but not least – the Hebridean Tea Store Special
An Taigh Dubh – the Blackhouse Tea |
The Blackhouse Tea is unique to the Hebridean Tea Store and you will only get it here. We are getting a lot of praise for this tea and even the locals say that this is how the tea tasted when it was made over a peat fire back in the days. A real treat for tea lovers.

An Àirigh – The Shieling |
An Àirigh or a shieling are the small houses you will find very often in the moor. In the olden days these were houses where the women and children stayed with the cattle during the summer months. The Shieling herbal infusion tastes of liquorice with a hint of zesty orange and has a natural sweetness.

As you can see, there are already a couple of really great teas in my Hebridean tea range and each one of them is simply divine.
