Darjeeling FTGFOP1 Bannockburn is a tea with both history and heart. The estate was founded in 1857 by Scottish planters longing for a piece of home. Surrounded by neighbouring gardens owned by Englishmen, they gave their estate a name full of defiance and pride: Bannockburn, recalling the famous Scottish victory of 1314.
Nestled in the West Valley of Darjeeling at altitudes between 800 and 1700 metres, the garden produces teas of remarkable quality, and this autumnal flush is no exception.
The leaves, touched with the colours of autumn, unfurl into a dark orange cup that is lively and fragrant. True to its Darjeeling character, it carries a muscatel note layered with aromatic depth – the kind of flavour that lingers, elegant and satisfying.
Harvested between August and October, this FTGFOP1 grade tea is best brewed lightly – around 11 g per litre, steeped for 2 minutes – to bring out its fragrant charm. A tea to savour slowly, one cup at a time.
