Summer is coming

front 2015 entry

Summer is coming to the Hebridean Tea Store, indeed.

June is nearly upon us and there was so much work to do at the shop over the last weeks that I did not manage to keep you posted about all the new things happening at the shop. My apologies!

The most important work for me over the last weeks was transforming the shop space. It is only a small shop I am in but I was determined to make some changes for the summer.

So finally my service area with the sink is installed. Well, nearly, yeah. There are still some cosmetic changes to be done but it already looks very nice and does the job.

This is how it looks now:

As you can see, the shelves are getting fuller and once everything is done I will upload better pictures. This is just a short glimpse of what to expect when you come into the shop this summer.

Also, with the new sink in I now am able to serve hot drinks to take away. At the present there is tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Oh and the fridge is full of ice tea as well! I am also planning on putting one table in with two chairs.

Then I will not only be the only tea store in the Western Isles but also the smallest cafe/tearoom as well!

What else is new this summer?

Well I started a pop-up cafe at the craft market which takes place at the townhall in Stornoway. Usually during the summer months every two weeks. We serve tea, coffee, hot chocolate and home baking. Oh, the home baking is at the shop as well, but at the moment only at the weekend.

In July we will be having a catering tent at the Hebridean Celtic Festival. This will be the highlight this summer. Days full of music and events. So looking forward to it!!
