Spring has sprung

Finally – spring has come!

Hopefully, these dark and rainy days are over. I cannot wait for all the blooming, the flowers and the colours to come back in our lives. A bit of sunshine, sitting in front of the house, in a warm breeze and with a nice cup of tea.

I love spring; I always did. I think it is my favourite season of the year. Then again, I also like autumn and winter. Summer is usually too hot for me, apart from here in the Outer Hebrides. I remember last year’s summer too well. It was a Tuesday, and I am 1000% sure about this!daffodils g20a8f6597 1280

Anyway, I feel a bit guilty that I did not write some more news here for a while. In my defence, the shop was closed for two weeks for a cheeky holiday and then, lo and behold, my daughter gave birth to an absolute cute baby boy. So you might excuse me that I was more occupied in getting baby snuggles than anything else ^^.

We have, however, ordered more stock and can’t wait for the arrival of two new teas.

A white tea peach with a fantastic taste will find its way on our green tea shelf. And a new fruit infusion with cherry and violet. I was a bit sceptical, but it is adorable and moreish. Once you start, you want to have more and more.

On a more serious note

On the 21st of March, the restrictions and rules regarding Covid 19 will change in Scotland. Wearing facemasks are no longer legally required. However, the government strictly advises wearing a face mask in shops, hospitality venues and public transport.

I do not want to fire up a heated debate here, but can I please ask customers to our shop to wear a face mask and sanitise their hands on entry? Here in the Western Isles, we used to be relatively sheltered at the beginning of the pandemic. But those days are long gone.

Currently, we have nearly 300 cases of Covid in total, and it is growing fast daily. 300 does not sound a lot, but in relation to the population on the island, it is.

We would appreciate your cooperation in that matter.

Many thanks for considering my request.

Received my first order today and it’s been an absolute treat, really nice addition to a dull day. I’ve tried three of the five and they all have a really obvious amount of thought gone into the blends.
    Keep up the wonderful work.
    Cheers

I was lucky to be sent a free sample of the cherry violet tea and it’s delicious – looking forward to being able to buy some. Congrats on your wee grandson.
