Nollaig Chridheil agus Bliadhna Mhath Ùr
As you might have guessed “Nollaig Chridheil agus Bliadhna Mhath Ùr” is Scottish Gaelic and means “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year”. My knowledge of Gaelic is still very, very basic but I intend to keep on learning it as it is a wonderful language.
Up to the run for Christmas my website decided to play up, isn’t it typical? Just during the busiest time of the year it did not do what it was told. I do not even want to think on how many people have been put off buying Christmas presents or one of our fabulous Christmas Teas . Some of them have lovely names like Chocolate Rum Toddy, Merry Berry Snowball, Pear Cinnamon , Sugar Plum Fairy . The look, smell and taste simply amazing. Even after Christmas, so you can still order them!!
It has also been a very busy time at the shop. We were – in fact while writing this we still are – selling some great continental pastries and confectionary this year as well: Schokoprinten, Nuss-Spitzkuchen, Domino Dices and original German Stollen from Dresden. Most of the stuff is down to the fact that this year I am feeling a little homesick and wanted at least to taste it like “home”.
Apart from that we also welcomed delicious local oaties and relish from Stramash, two lovely people from the village of Ness here on the Isle of Lewis.
So tell me, what are you doing this Christmas? I for once have decided to sit on the couch with a nice glass of mulled wine and a book, if possible. The shop will be closed from 25th of December 2015 until 5th of January 2016.
Again, wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
